Writing About Your Craft Beer Business
As Beering grows its community, we plan to be the largest and most valuable source of beer information in the UK, and eventually in the world! A huge part of this is by working with other bloggers, taprooms, breweries and online beer stores. In this article, we are going to outline how you can write about your craft beer business successfully and gain more exposure through our website.
The ultimate key to doing this, is to always think “guide” rather than “advert”. By providing useful and valuable information about your business, our community will be more likely to engage with your brand. If you are a blogger then please read our article about becoming a guest blogger here!
Online Stores – This is likely the most difficult to write about without seeming like one long written advert, so be creative. Write about which beer brands you usually get in stock, why you have chosen them and what your favourite beers are. It’s better to make it personal, rather than just a brand. At the bottom of the post, we will display your company details with links to your social media and website. We feel if a visitor has read that far, they will likely want to engage with your brand. We strongly encourage offering some kind of discount code specifically for Beering, so our readers gain something tangible, and you can measure how much traffic is being driven to your website through Beering.

Taprooms & Beer Shops – Again thinking more of a guide rather than advert, this is a great place to write up a full guide to your business. Include a personal touch such as how you established the venue, past beer events, plans for the future, beer brands you work with, types of beers you sell etc. Remember, don’t write up about your business like an advert as readers will likely switch off, write something interesting that provides value. Maybe your venue is part of an amazing pub crawl, maybe its location is near some great burger bars that could make a great day out… all these details will provide real value to readers. At the bottom of the post, this is a great place to provide details such as opening hours, location, transport links etc. If you use UNTAPPD, you can also send the code so we can display your current menu. You may want to go a step further and give out specific discount codes for Beering readers to use in store on their next visit! One of our favourite UK taprooms is the Crafty Taproom!

Breweries – We are very excited to start building the ultimate brewery database. Readers will likely want to hear about your history, beer styles and core offerings so that would be great to include. A section for tour options, on-site tasting sessions and other things you offer will be very useful to help readings plan their visit. Again, offering a discount code specifically for Beering will help drive more conversions and visits and provide the Beering community value. Some brewers may want to write an entire post about one of their most complex beers which would definitely make an interesting read and work well with a guide to the brewery!

Other things to remember – As with all posts on this website, please ensure you have permission to use the photos you use in the blog post. Provide as much value as you can to avoid blog posts becoming long winded adverts. And if possible, we strong encourage everyone to provide a discount code specific to Beering which will help you to analyse how much traffic is being directed to your website through us. Any company who would like to send us their beer to rate will be featured on our social media too and we’ll take professional and creative pictures using our new photo studio!
